SOUTH STAND NAME CHANGE AFTER THIS LEGEND

The South stand at Old Trafford is to have a name change after the legend himself, Sir Bobby Charlton. The unveiling of the new name will be announced at the home match against Everton on the 2nd April in behalf of 75,000 fans. Sir Bobby Charlton has made 758 appearances for the club and scoring a record 249 goals. Just recently he also had the record of 49 goals for the England National team, until Wayne Rooney broke the record in September.

Ed Woodward commented: "Bobby is, quite simply, the most iconic figure in English football history. A player, a diplomat, a gentleman and a tireless worker for charity, he represents everything that is good about football and Manchester United. Renaming the South Stand, which contains both the Directors’ Box and the old players’ changing rooms, is a fitting tribute to all that Bobby has contributed to the club both as a player and a director.”

Sir Bobby said: “This is a great honour and I am very proud – for myself and my family – that the club has chosen to name the South Stand after me. Manchester United has been such an important part of my life and I have so many wonderful memories of this Theatre of Dreams. As a player, I remember the goals and the marvellous players I played with. As a director, I have seen some outstanding matches and players. It is a special place indeed. “I would like to thank everyone connected with Manchester United. So many people work so hard to keep us at the top; their effort should never be forgotten. But most of all, I would like to thank Norma, my wonderful wife, and my family for the support and encouragement they have always provided. This is for them.”

So it's no surprise that Bobby Charlton is receiving this great honour that he thoroughly deserves. Manchester United may not be making history now, but the history at the club remains forever. Lest we never forget.

Welcome back! - Cristiano Ronaldo

Ex star Cristiano Ronaldo is making his return back to Old Trafford tomorrow as Portugal face Argentina at Old Trafford. That also means that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will go head to head. The last time Cristiano Ronaldo played at Old Trafford was in the season 2012/13 when Manchester United were knocked out of the Champions league at the Quarter Final stage. The Real Madrid side beat the reds 3-1. Remember? It would be a fantastic game tomorrow, for sure!

The return of Nemanja Vidic?

Manchester United could be loaning ex centre- back Nemanja Vidic for six months if they are unable to find a defender to cover the defender crisis. The Serbian has only played eight games this season for Inter Milan and could be on his way back to Old Trafford in January.

Manchester United vs Chelsea - as we expected!

Manchester United faced Chelsea at Old Trafford today at 16:00 as we all know. I was getting over excited and I thought it was yesterday! Anyway first half was brilliant and vibrant for Manchester United but no goals were scored both halves. About ten minutes after half time corner kick was taken by Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas and into the net by, yeah Didier Drogba! But then when all hearts were down Super Van Persie equalised at the time 90+4! The last few seconds of the game! Good game but  it would be nice if Manchester United score the opening goals instead of trailing all the time! Would've won the game if Chelsea players weren't so tall!

Manchester United boost - Chelsea

Manchester United have a bigger probability of beating Chelsea at Old Trafford with Diego Costa and Loic Remy missing out because of injury concerns. That means that the only striker they can use is Didier Drogba who is what, 36 years of age. Also our away record is pretty bad but our home record is superb! And guess what, we're playing at home! It will be a difficult game but a lot of players on the injury list are making returns so it's going to be an interesting match.

Manchester United dream - Pep Guardiola

Bayern Munich manager and ex Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola, has revealed his Manchester United dream in the book: 'The inside story of Pep Guardiola's First Season at Bayern Munich', which was written by his friend and journalist Marti Perarneau. In the book its says: ''I like this atmosphere. I could see myself coaching here one day''. By the time Sir Alex Ferguson announced his retirement Pep Guardiola has already signed for Bayern Munich. So if not that he could have been our manager and bring the Tiki - Taka to Old Trafford. Personally there is no other manager apart from Louis Van Gaal that could do the job.
